BRAND STRATEGY, BRAND IDENTITY, PRINT COLLATERAL

Bar Miriam is a small—but certainly mighty—cocktail bar and gastropub nestled in Queen Anne. I'd worked with Brian, the bar's owner, previously on developing the brand for Baker's. With this space, we wanted to establish a unique identity that felt right for the neighborhood. The bar's name comes from Brian's grandmother, a unique and loving woman with a love of travel, greenery, and excellent food. Nestled within the brand and space itself are small nods to the namesake.

Bar Miriam's brand system includes a series of marks that are easily adapted to various uses. The color palette's soft vintage hues evoke nostalgia and add touches of warmth to the bar's interior.

Right next door to Bar Miriam, Queen Anne Bottle Shop is a neighborhood spot with curated wines and goods. When developing the visual identity, it was important to create something that would mesh with the bar's branding, while still having a voice of its own. The result is a brand system that's minimal, slightly retro, and functional for the uses of a retail space.
